“Birds Eye View” Game Design Document

Game Overview

  • Backstory

Game Pillars

  • First game pillar will be the fact that this game takes extraction shooters to the next level by creating the ability to play an entire story/campaign solo player.

  • Second Is gameplay, the gameplay will play out like a normal extraction such as Tarkov and Marauders but with the best feeling gameplay extraction shooter gamers will have ever played. It will not be clunky and feel like your player weighs 1,00 pounds, though it will still be a slower stealthier game.

  • With every mission not succeeded the missions and armies will only get stronger and harder. If you enter a mission to take out a yakuza boss in a campaign and fail, next time you try the mission there will be more security and harder AI to fight against. This will mimic Lord of the Rings shadow of Mordor but done at a greater and smarter scale.

Armor/Clothing

  • Armor is differentiated through what you put on your body

  • There will be legitimate armors like riot helmets and tactical vest but also normal clothing that give you little to medium armor ratings

  • Armors will be for the following

    • Head

    • Body

    • Legs

    • Feet

Extraction Points

  • Each Extraction Point will be in every Mission you do

  • Extraction Points will be random in every Mission as well

  • You will always have a time limit to get in and get out

Single Player/Campaign

  • Single player campaign 

  • Length/hours to complete

  • Different missions

  • Who you have to defeat to win the game

Multiplayer

  • Teams of up to 3

  • Multiplayer will have extractions up to 50 minutes long

  • Lobbies with other online players that can be killed and looted of up to 12 people

  • Team trading between teammates in lobby/hideout 

First level

  • First level will consist of finding out what happened to you and why you are there. 

  • This will lead you to find and kill off your first Yakuza hideout. 

  • You will start off with your first primary and secondary guns that you may potentially lose if you fail the mission.

  • If the first mission fails it will be the only mission to not get progressively harder for those who need to learn the mechanics of the game.

UI Wiremap

  • The map is of the united states with major cities taken over by the Japanese

  • Miami

  • Seattle

  • Los Angeles

  • New York

  • Boston

  • These cities are broken down into spawn points in which the cities are broken up into smaller areas that you spawn into.

Gameplay

  • First person shooter

  • Slow movements but smoother than any other extraction game

  • Realistic health system

  • Realistic gunplay

Future Concepts

  • I want to add more cities in the future

  • Add unpopulated states that have Americans who have been living in hiding ever since the takeover with side missions.

  • More guns 

  • More attachments

  • I want to add in more bosses with maybe different backstories then coming from the Yakuzas

  • Add maybe a boss for the Cops or the Rusteezs
